Dr. Diane Febles
I received a BS from Cornell
University in 1982, and  graduated
from the UGA College of Veterinary
Medicine in 1988. I then started my
general equine  practice in Henry
County, Ga.  In 2000, I returned to
school to specialize in Equine
Dentistry.  I have trained under
several prominent veterinary
dentists.  I am a member of, and
regularly attend continuing
education meetings of the
International Association of Equine
Dentists
and the American
Association of Equine Practioners
.
I live on a small farm in McDonough,
Ga, with my 4 children and assorted
animals. I have a complete mobile
operation (throughout the state of
Georgia) to perform dental
procedures -  including X-rays,
extractions, etc. I also have a facility
for clients to haul in for dentistrys.
In my 'spare time' I take to the trails
with my horse 'Lance', or play at
barrel racing and sorting with my
QH mare, 'Sizzle'.  Any day is a great
day when it's spent on the back of
my horse!
About Us
Equipment is another important factor when considering a dentist.    I use power equipment (see FAQ for more info)
with Diamond coated burrs on all my instruments. This makes the floats  more precise, and easier on the horse (since it
greatly reduces vibration).  I am continually upgrading my equipment.   For more complicated cases, I have mobile,
stall-side X-ray equipment and digital radiology - which permits me to read the X-rays immediately (on my laptop).  A
diagnosis and treatment plan can be accomplished that day, and the owner can see the X-rays and understand the
diagnosis.  An informed owner is the best kind of client to have!
In addition to the traditional medical approach to dentistry and veterinary medicine, I also embrace the holistic arena.
I believe that there are times when chiropractic care (see Dr. Cleveland's link), massage therapy and acupuncture can
produce better results then traditional medical/surgical options.  Our comprehensive exam includes checking for
problems that could be contributing to the horse's well being.  There are also some herbal supplements that I have
found very useful in treating certain conditions.  It is my opinion that we need to look at and address the whole horse,
and that often requires a team approach.
Honesty, Integrity, and a  Commitment to Excellence.  These are the values that I hold
in both my professional, and personal life.  I am committed to improving the health and
welfare of the horses that I am entrusted to treat.  I am one of the few blessed
individuals that truly loves their career choice.

Laura Davies, CEMT
Laura is a 2003 graduate from the
University of Florida with a B.S. in Animal
Science. She is also a
Certified Equine
Massage Therapist
.  She has had horses
her whole life, and currently owns and rides
Arabians in Locust Grove.  She is a student
of natural horsemanship, and has worked
with  many ages and breeds.  She has a
quiet, competent demeanor with the
horses, and is an asset to my practice.  Her
skill in helping to restrain the horses  allows
the owner to get a 'birds eye view' into
their horse's mouth, and watch the
procedure. She is also able to offer a 'mini
massage' to painful horses, while they are
sedated, to help with muscle spasms, etc.,
and can offer a full massage on request.   I
am thrilled to have Laura on staff.
