Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance... Prov. 1:5
Acupuncture has been used as a medical therapy for over 2000 years. From a modern perspective, acupuncture represents a form of nerve stimulation, which leads to changes in blood flow, release of endorphins and enkephalins, and stimulation of the immune system. Acupuncture can also be extremely useful as a diagnostic tool. Acupuncture may be performed using Chinese needles, the injection of B-12 or other substances into specific points, Electro-Acupuncture (which uses an electrical current through the needles), or laser therapy on specific points.
